Christmas Surprise in a Muffin Tin
Not too long ago, N did this Halloween Surprise in a Muffin Tin activity. It was so much fun in its simplicity, I built on the idea, and this time, I gave him a Christmas Surprise in a Muffin Tin!
I used the same muffin tin and the same bottle lids, but with the change of seasons, I hid mini Christmas ornaments and small Christmas bows in the cavities.
(N was 1 year and 4 months old.)

Materials for Christmas Surprise in a Muffin Tin
- Muffin tin.
- Large juice bottle lids. {Ours are from Simply Orange juice.}
- Small Christmas bows and/or mini Christmas ornaments or other small toddler-safe Christmas items you have on hand.
Once again, this activity was very quick and simple to set up, and N got right to it.
He’d never played with the mini ornaments or the bows before, and he took his time exploring them.
He tried to fit several items at a time into the lids
and sorted them back into the muffin tin.
Sometimes, he’d put the lid back on top, too 🙂
The lids worked great for a variety of actions. N’s favorites were using them as scoops
and to stack Christmas bows in them.
The bottom of the muffin tin gave N the chance to explore the Christmas ornaments in a whole different way,
but while he enjoyed the muffin tin, the bows and ornaments were clearly the main attraction for him!
