Water Sensory Bin for Babies
Baby N loves water but his first baby play with water last month didn’t go all that well. I realized at the time that it just wasn’t a good time of the day for him.
This time, we played after lunch {not late in the afternoon, just before his second nap}, and he enjoyed every minute with his Water Sensory Bin for Babies! And it’s not that he didn’t get wet this time – oh no, he got wet alright, but this time, it was pure fun 🙂
(Baby N was 9 months old.)

Materials for Water Sensory Bin for Babies
- Small waterproof sensory bin. {We used this shoe box sized storage bin. Don’t buy it on Amazon if you can help it, though, it’s 99 cents at Walmart…}
- Water.
- Colorful lids (optional).
- Plastic spoon (optional).
- Plastic giraffe (optional).
Baby N came right over to check it out, and he started splashing straight away.
He was drawn to the giraffe and explored it first, then held it or kept it close by for the duration of the activity.
There was more splashing – yep, he splashed himself in the face but it didn’t seem to bother him at all.
Until he REALLY got a face full – that caused him to take a little break from splashing.
Instead, he checked out the lids and the spoon for a bit.
But there was still more fun to be had! He decided to look at the bottom of the sensory bin
with predictable results.
Yep, no more water in the bin!
He was pleased 🙂
He ended the activity just chilling in the puddle, chewing on his giraffe.
