Tally marks! Do your kids know about them? We’ve only just recently started talking about them, and E thinks they’re pretty fun. I like that they offer a different way of looking at numbers, and it’s just a great, useful life skill to have.
These Summer Beach Life Puzzles with Tally Marks offer a chance to explore or review the concept with self-correcting 5- and 10-piece puzzles that are perfect for older preschoolers and kindergarteners.

What’s in the Printable PDF File?
This printable has four pages (pages 3-6 in the PDF). The first two pages have two 5-piece puzzles each. The other two pages have one 10-piece puzzle each.
Download the file, print the page(s) you want (preferably on cardstock or scrapbook paper), laminate, and cut the puzzle pieces apart at the black lines. The thicker black lines in the middle separate the 5-piece puzzles.
Your children can assemble one puzzle at a time while paying attention to the tally marks on each puzzle piece or mix up several puzzles for a greater challenge.
