Strawberry Orange Frozen Yogurt Pops

Like every summer, we’ve made a lot of popsicles over the past few weeks. They’re fun to make, easy enough for a preschooler to do almost all of the work, don’t require heat, and they’re delicious!

As another plus, you can be as creative as you’d like with the ingredients and try a new combination each time – or repeat a favorite, of course!

We’re all big fans of strawberries around here {I think the kids never had a choice because I ate SO MANY strawberries when I was pregnant :p Seriously, it was my major pregnancy craving!}, so we keep coming back to recipes involving them.

We’ve made strawberry lemonade, strawberry chocolate chip cake, and these healthy frozen yogurt pops have strawberry puree! This time, E decided to go with strawberry puree again, but she mixed things up a little and came up with Strawberry Orange Frozen Yogurt Pops!

At this point, E can do pretty much everything she needs to do for these frozen yogurt popsicles herself.

She hulled and cut the strawberries {it’s not actually necessary to cut them, but she wanted to},

then placed them in the food processor to puree them. {We have this one and love it! It’s big enough for most things we want to chop or puree, but small enough for E to handle it with no help except for when it comes to putting in and taking out the sharp blades.}

The strawberry puree went into a bowl,

and E added some yogurt and a little bit of orange juice.

Of course, she had to sneak a taste of the mixture and declared it delicious!

After she’d spooned the yogurt mixture into the popsicle molds about 3/4 full, she decided to finish them off with straight orange juice. I helped a little with this step because it was a big, heavy bottle.

After a few hours in the freezer, the popsicles looked great and tasted even better!

Even N got his first taste of a popsicle! Don’t worry, this is the basic look on his face whenever he tries anything at all 😉
