Ocean Creatures Memory Game

E loves playing memory games. To go with her preschool summer camp theme of “Under the Sea”, where they learned about lots of fun sea creatures, I made her this Ocean Creatures Memory Game.

It’s great for learning about ocean life, taking turns, matching, concentration skills, and more!

How to Play a Memory or Matching Game

The basic way of playing a memory game is to shuffle the cards and lay them out face down. Players take turns turning over two cards at a time. If the cards match, the player gets to keep the pair.

Memory cards showing 2 yellow blowfish, two green tortoises, 2 beige sand dollars, 2 blue sea urchins, 2 light blue dolphins, and 2 yellow starfish on top of a brown wooden desktop.

Of course, you can always start out limiting the number of cards and add more over time depending on younger children’s skill level(s).

Beginners, preschoolers, and even toddlers could start with six or fewer pairs like in my Matching Games for Toddlers. The toddler versions feature larger cards that are a perfect size for younger kids.
