Today, I’m sharing another super simple bathtub activity for toddlers and preschoolers learning their colors: Learning Colors with Rainbow Bears in the Bathtub!
(N was 2 years and 1 month old.)

Materials for Learning Colors with Rainbow Bears in the Bathtub
- Rainbow bears.
- Plastic egg carton. Alternatively, a muffin tin would work as well, or another container, preferably with separate compartments.
- Water and bubbles.
I randomly placed rainbow bears in different colors and sizes in the cavities in the plastic egg carton. N and I started talking about the colors and sizes.
He kept looking closely at the individual rainbow bears and I told him what color they were.
N had fun rearranging the rainbow bears in the carton several times over.
He tried to close up the egg carton with the rainbow bears inside but wasn’t able to work it out.
While he was working on it, the rainbow bears ended up in the water. At that point, he didn’t care about them, he was completely focused on the carton.
When he was done playing with the carton, N started fishing rainbow bears out of the water and playing with them in different ways.
