I Love My Dad! Emergent Reader Mini Folding Book
A few years ago, I shared a fun little Father’s Day emergent reader booklet with you. My readers have since come to really enjoy the mini folding book format, so this year, I made a version of the older mini book in this format: I Love My Dad! Emergent Reader Mini Folding Book.
Mini folding books require no duplex printing, no gluing or stapling, and minimal cutting.

Materials for I Love My Dad! Emergent Reader Mini Folding Book
- Printable file (below).
- Printer.
- Paper cutter and/or scissors.
- One sheet of printer paper.
What’s in the printable PDF file?
The file includes one page to be printed on one sheet of paper. You’ll turn the one sheet into a mini folding book without glue and with minimal cutting.
The mini folding book has six pages plus a front and back cover. The front cover has the title “I Love My Dad!” plus an image of a dad and a girl. The six inner pages show six different Father’s Day-related images and matching simple sentences.
The back cover lists the words that I used in the book:

Pre-primer sight words: I, my, me, is, the, made, a, big, for, to, play.

Primer sight words: he, do.
-
Second-grade sight words: best, reads.
-
Other words: loves, dad/daddy, card, hugs.
