Easter Basket Sensory Soup
Plastic Easter eggs are so much fun! They add a new dimension to all kinds of sensory activities, both before and after Easter. I particularly like all the bright colors, and there are a lot of cute novelty versions out there.
This Easter Basket Sensory Soup was very easy to set up {like most of our water play activities} and kept my toddler busy for a good long time.
(N was 1 year and 8 months old.)

Materials for Easter Basket Sensory Soup
- Various plastic Easter eggs. The more different kinds and colors you have, the better.
- Easter grass.
- Water table (optional but awesome).
- Water.
- Containers and kitchen utensils.
The set-up of this activity was very simple: I put some water into the bottom compartment of the water table, added lots of different Easter eggs all over the place, threw in some plastic Easter grass, added a container and some kitchen utensils, and let N loose on it.
He hadn’t played with Easter grass before, and he wasn’t really sure if he liked it. It was fun to pull it out of the water, though!
I’d had these super cute bunny tongs lying around since last year, and now N finally had his chance to check them out. He loved them!
The ladle worked well for scooping water and Easter eggs, but N didn’t spend a lot of time on it.
He did spend a good amount of time on exploring the eggs, particularly the ones with the smiley faces – we’d bought them only recently.
But old favorites were a lot of fun, too – especially when you can stuff some Easter grass into them 🙂
After putting a bunch of eggs into the container, N used the whole thing to scoop up some water and thought it was hilarious to pour it out again 🙂
Even though the lower compartment of the water table ended up being pretty crowded, N didn’t skip his favorite water play activity: SPLASHING!!! 😀
