Chocolate Dipped Pretzels

I really love fun, simple treats like chocolate popcorn or chocolate bark. These chocolate dipped pretzels are honestly slightly more work depending on how many you make at a time, but they’re just so cute, yummy, only use a few ingredients, and can be made to match any theme!

If you can get the bigger pretzel twists, you’ll get more bang for the buck, but small pretzels work just fine. Pretzel rods are another alternative.

Once you have your favorite pretzel snack ready, all you need are candy melts in the color(s) of your choice and sprinkles.

A wide variety of sprinkles will work, but you want to stick to smaller sizes on the small pretzels and pretzel rods. The bigger sprinkles can be too heavy to stick to the chocolate properly.

Melt your candy melts in the microwave. It usually takes about 2-3 minutes for me, but the time may vary according to the power of your microwave. Check and stir every 30 seconds to make sure you don’t overheat the melts!

You can either dip your pretzels in the melted chocolate or use a spoon to place the chocolate where you want it. If you have a little too much, tap the pretzel on the edge of your bowl and the excess will drip off.

Place your pretzel on top of some wax or parchment paper and decorate with sprinkles. Or hold your pretzel over a plate that can catch the extra sprinkles that inevitably fall down so you can use them right away on your next pretzel. It makes it easy to get the most out of your sprinkles without wasting too much.

It doesn’t take long for the chocolate to harden, you should be good to go within 30 minutes or so. If you’re in more of a hurry than that, you can put your chocolate dipped pretzels in the fridge for a few minutes.

You can arrange your pretzels in a cup or bowl, and I’ve even strung them up as a fun garland decoration!

The sky is the limit for combining candy melt colors and sprinkle types and colors!

My personal favorite? Probably the white candy melts with blue/green/white/black nonpareils in the picture below!
