Day 8: Winter Penguins Snip and Sort for Toddlers

Wow, the first week of the 24 Days of Christmas Printables for Toddlers is already over! Time sure does fly when you’re having fun – or are just super busy 😉 It’s a combination of both for me, I hope it’s the former for you 🙂

To start out week 2, I’m sharing a Winter Penguins Snip and Sort for Toddlers for day 8 today. {Check out Day 7’s Christmas Ornament Lower Case Letter Matching, too!}

Similar to my cutting practice puzzles, this type of printable gives the snipped pieces of paper a purpose for part two of the activity. I love it when I can hit two learning objectives for the price of one 🙂

Materials for Winter Penguins Snip and Sort for Toddlers

• PDF file (below).
• Printer.
• One or two sheets of paper, depending on whether you only want to do the snipping aspect of the activity or both snipping and sorting.
• Laminator and laminating pouch if you want to make a reusable sorting set.
• Scissors and/or paper cutter.

There are two pages you need to print for this snip and sort activity. The first page includes six cutting strips with six different images of cute penguins wearing winter clothes. Prepare this page by cutting the strips apart at the thick black horizontal lines.

The other page is a sorting mat featuring the same penguin images.

 

 

Have your kids cut the individual penguin images apart at the dotted lines and sort them on the sorting mat.
